Why RSS Feeds

1. Controlling spam
As you might already know, spam controls have become better and better. The more aggressive these controls have become, the less effective ezines have become. Many ezines these days are captured before even hitting your inbox. Spam controls have become so aggressive that I have had to regularly check my spam box just to make sure that things are not being overlooked.
In terms of getting your content out, RSS has already taken the place of ezines. This is mostly due to the fact that RSS feeds are better suited for providing visitors with updates.
2. Blogs
Blogs have exploded onto the market place over the last few years. The blogging phenomenon of the last few years has introduced many people to RSS. When you think about it, RSS really is a great technology. How else can a user track his/her favorite site without visiting them all the time?
3. The average user - browsers
RSS has already been integrated in to the average user’s experience. You need look no further than the latest releases of Firefox or the Internet Explorer.
4. Adoption of technology
There have already been huge investments in the technology by Google, MSN, and Yahoo. In addition, you will also find that My Yahoo , Yahoo 360, Del.icio.us, Flickr, Blogger and several others have embraced it.
5. Working efficiently
Working efficiently is the key these days. Although most people look to find the easiest ways of performing a task, effective people learn to perform them efficiently also. I see RSS as becoming even more useful over time. Due to its usefulness and potential growth, I believe that RSS will become even more popular. It affords people a more efficient/effective way of doing things and yes…as a result more free time.
