Website Design

Having created several websites of my own, I thought it might be helpful to share some of my experience. As I begin to design a website, the one thing that I have always kept in mind was my audience. It is very important to design a website that caters to the needs of your visitors. For most of my websites, I've tried to keep the design simple and straightforward. In order to accomplish this, it helps to start with a good layout.

First, think about the key pages that will be necessary. Some typical examples are a "home" page, "product" page, "contact" page, an "about" page, etc. The home page should be linked to each of your main tier pages. I generally include a menu bar, along with a unique header at the top of each page. This is a great way to make sure the users can easily navigate your website.

To give your site more depth, you should add "subpages" to the "main/parent" pages. Subpages could either be linked to the parent pages, or added as drop down menus from the links on the menu bar. An example would be to include specific categories under a "product" section. This would help to create a more fluid organization for your website. It would also make it easier for your audience to find exactly what they're looking for.

From this point on it would just be a matter of creating great content. Just make sure your content is specific to your website. It is not that hard to make a website. You just need to think about your design and plan accordingly.

You Make A Website Blog

"What should my website be about, help me choose something?"  This is the one question that I hear all the time.  Everyone is knowledgeable about something.  It could be sewing, photography, skydiving etc...You are not trying to re-invent the wheel.  All you are trying to do is share a knowledge of something that you are passionate about and there is demand for.  Your visitors will benefit and so will you.  Win/Win!
