Creating a website business plan, where do I start?
When creating a website business plan our approach must be just a tad different. Some people rush into everything. A great idea hits them and the next thing you know, that idea is up and running. If you are looking to make a successful website/business, this is not the time to rush.
Taking
the time to plan and prepare will save you so much time in
the long run. Once your business is up and running, planning may
no
longer be an option. Your priority becomes survival and then
growth.
The purpose of this section is to force you to slow down, to think strategically. What kind of website/ business do you really want? What kind of future do you envision?
You will be forced to take a good look at your market, your competition and yes your customers. You will also be forced to assess your strengths and weaknesses. This is extremely important when deciding on your niche and the profitability of you website.
By refining your strategy through the planning process now, you should be able to clearly distinguish your website from the competition. In addition, the conveyance of your niche message should become easier.
Having identified your own strengths and weaknesses we will also look at your competition. At worst you will have a site that can compete with the competition. At best you will have created something that is better.
