Ramping Up Your Website’s Sales

The first thing that you should consider adjusting on your site is your sales message. Take the time to review all of your site’s pages. Add your own personal touch. Most of us have no problem buying from people that we know, friends, family etc… You just don’t want to buy from a total stranger. By adding a personal touch, anticipating the needs of your visitors, you are keeping their best interest in mind. You are building a relationship. Your sales message should speak to the individual/visitor, not an audience.
Second, consider publishing customer testimonials, reviews and or comments. Publish both the good and the bad. To be convincing you have to bear it all, there will be positive and there will be negative postings. By posting both, you build credibility. New visitors to your site will find comfort in the testimonial/comments of others. Others have purchased and the feedback is there for all to see. There is an associated comfort one gets from reviews/comments of others.
Another suggestion might be to use visual representations whenever a product is suggested as a solution. Not everyone will read the text behind a product. A few will pay more attention to the related images. Having both the textual as well as visual representations of the problem and the solution provide by a product goes a long way.
Finally, and I am sure you have heard this a thousand times, ask for the sale! It is one thing to entice your visitors with the benefits of your product or website services but don’t forget to ask for the sale. Be clear on how to purchase your product or service. (“Click here to buy now”) If you want to get the click ask for it.
