5 Tips for Attracting Targeted Visitors

Need a few tips on attracting traffic to your website? Read on, I've enclosed a few.

I thought that I'd create a post on this since I am always receiving emails on this topic. Yes, you are right, you can build the best website in the world but without traffic, it is just a pretty website. A pretty website without traffic won?t earn a penny.

Many new to online/affiliate marketing overlook this part.

Essential to any website business and its success, traffic. Again, it is great to have an attractive website but you still need traffic.

Now if you are reading this article then you are probably already experiencing some issues with traffic/ trying to attract more traffic.

To get more traffic I suggest:

1. Link Exchanges
Now I know that this can be painful but it is a great way to increase the traffic to your site. Keep in mind that your link exchanges should not be random. You should strive for link exchanges with similar sites, not competitors. Your links will be more valuable if they are from similar sites

2. Submitting Articles to Article Directories
This is a great way to ramp up traffic to your site. Submitting articles to article directories provides for a massive amount of exposure. Not only does this help with your site's page rank but it helps define you as an expert in your field. Now in terms of writing articles, you can write them yourself or purchase them from someplace like Freelancer.

3. Creating a Newsletter

To develop a consistent flow /amount of traffic you should consider starting a newsletter. Of the first time visitors to your site, only approx 4.5% or less purchase initially. Having an "opt in" list provides you with an opportunity to follow up. If you offer something of value, i.e. content, most people will return to your site.

4. Contributing to Online Forums/Communities
Forums can be an excellent source of targeted traffic. It does require time but you can do this. All you have to do is find a forum related to your area of expertise. Share your knowledge, contribute great comments. Add a link or so to your comments when appropriate but don?t spam. If you comments are on target people will value them and follow the links. In addition, by sharing your knowledge you begin develop a reputation as an expert.

5. Viral Marketing
Viral marketing is probably the fastest way in terms of exploding your traffic. Why? With viral marketing you get to spread the word with minimal costs. For example, just create a short but detailed report in your area of expertise. Make sure that you include links back to your site. Pass it on to your friends and relatives. Ask them to pass it on. Before you know it, this report is everywhere. Viral Marketing at its best.

Now these are by no means and exhaustive list, but they will help you get the ball rolling. Implement them and watch your traffic grow a little by little every month.
